Resumo: Neste trabalho objetivou-se o estudo dos padrões morfométricos da
abelha Melipona scutellaris no município de Areia (PB) e Igarassu (PE). O
município de Areia possui clima tropical úmido e estação chuvosa no período
de outono-inverno, apresentando temperatura média de 27,5ºC. No presente
estudo, foram coletadas 20 amostras das respectivas cidades onde foram feitas
análises comparativas entre as espécies. Dessas amostras retiraram-se algumas
estruturas anatômicas: probóscide, 3ª perna direita e as asas posteriores e
anteriores direita, dentre as quais foram medidas: Comprimento da probóscide,
fêmur, tarso, asa anterior e asa posterior, largura do tarso, asa anterior e
posterior. Os resultados obtidos apresentaram diferenças e semelhanças entre
si. As abelhas do município de Areia apresentaram uma média inferior (7,8mm)
para comprimento da asa anterior, enquanto as abelhas de Igarassu obtiveram
média de (8,2mm). Conclui-se então que as abelhas da mesma espécie apresentam
diferenças morfométricas entre si.

THE STUDY ON THE MORPHMETRICAL RULES OF MELIPONA SCUTELLARIS BEE (URUÇU)
IN AREIA (PB) AND IGARASSU (PE)
Abstract: The aim of this work was to study about the morphmetrical rules of
Melipona scutellaris bee (uruçu) in Areia (PB) and Igarassu (PE) cities. Areia
city has humid tropical climate and rainy season from Fall to Winter under
medium temperature of 27,5ºC. In this study, it has been collected 20 samples
from the named cities where it has been made comparative reviews among the
breeds. From the samples, it was pulled out some anatomical structure: the
proboscides; the third right leg; the posterior and previous right wings, among
them it was measured: the proboscides length; the femur; the tarsus; the
previous and posterior wing; the tarsus length. The results obtained presented
differences and resemblances among them. Bees from Areia city presented inferior
medium (7,8mm) to the length of the previous wing, while the bees from Igarassu
have gotten medium of 8,2mm. It was concluded that bees from the same specie
show morphmetrical differences among them.
