Resumo: Este trabalho teve por objetivo o desenvolvimento de um estudo sobre a situação atual da Biotecnologia aplicada à indústria animal no Estado do Paraná. O levantamento dos dados foi realizado para a bovinocultura, suinocultura, piscicultura e avicultura. Os resultados obtidos permitem identificar o número de especialistas e os conseqüentes grupos de pesquisa que trabalham na área, os cursos de graduação e pós-graduação afins do Estado do Paraná, bem como os depósitos de patentes em biotecnologia animal depositados no INPI, para os setores contemplados. O estudo foi efetuado levando-se em consideração as dez mesorregiões do Estado, e a mesorregião Norte-Central é a que detém maior número de especialistas, grupos de pesquisa, e cursos de pós-graduação na área, seguida pela mesorregião Metropolitana de Curitiba.

Study of the situation nowadays of the animal biotechnology in the State of Paraná

Abstract: This work had as an objective the development of a study about the situation nowadays of the biotechnology applied to the animal industry in the State of Paraná. The data collection was done for the bovine, swine, poultry and fish sectors. The obtained results allow to identify the number of specialists, the research groups, the graduation and pos graduation courses related to the area in the State of Paraná, besides the patents deposited in INPI of the animal biotechnology area, for the studied sectors. The study was done considering the ten regions of the State, and the North Central region is the one that has the highest number of specialists, research groups, and pos graduation courses in the area, followed by the Metropolitan region of Curitiba.
