Resumo: O experimento avaliou a qualidade nutricional do capim elefante (Pennisetum purpureum) cv. Napier e das leguminosas leucena (Leucaena leucocephala) cv. Peru e feijão guandu (Cajanus cajan), cultivadas solteiras ou consorciadas. O arranjo experimental constituiuse num delineamento inteiramente casualizado com 5 tratamentos, T1- Capim elefante (CE), T2- Leucena (L), T3- Feijão guandu (FG), T4- Consórcio CE+L e T5- Consórcio CE+FG, com 3 repetições. As avaliações foram realizadas no período outono-inverno, sendo as plantas da área útil da parcela cortada pelo intervalo de 180 dias, em setembro. Posteriormente, determinou-se nessas frações os teores de matéria seca (MS), proteína bruta (PB), fibra em detergente neutro (FDN) e matéria mineral (MM). O sistema de cultivo não influenciou de maneira significativa a qualidade nutricional das forrageiras avaliadas. Entre a gramínea e as leguminosas observou-se que em ambos os sistemas de cultivo, o capim elefante apresentou elevado teores de FDN para a fração folha, já as leguminosas apresentaram maiores teores de PB na planta inteira e na fração folha. Os teores médios em ambos os sistemas de cultivo de MS, PB, FDN e MM para planta inteira do CE foram de 37,93; 3,29; 65,21 e 5,47%; para a L de 37,08; 12,77; 63,33 e 5,41%;e para o FG de 43,43; 10,95; 45,71 e 6,64%, respectivamente.

abstract: The experiment aimed to evaluate the nutritional quality of the elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) cv. Napier and leucaena (Leucaena leucocephala) cv. Peru and pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) leguminous, single or in consortium cultivated. The experimental apparatus was in a completely randomized design with 5 treatments, T1- Elephant Grass (EG), T2- Leucaena (L), T3- Pigeon Pea (PP), T4- Consortium EG+L and T5- Consortium EG+PP, with three replications. The evaluations were made during autumn-winter, being the plants of the floor area of the plot cut at interval of 180 days, i september. Subsequently, it was determined these fractions the levels of dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and mineral matter (MM). The cropping system did not affect so significantly the nutritional quality of forages evaluated. Among the grasses and legumes was observed that in both culture systems, the elephant grass had high levels of NDF in the leaf fraction, since the legumes had higher levels of CP in the whole plant and leaf fraction. The average levels in both cultivation systems of DM, CP, NDF and MM for the whole plant of EG were 37.93; 3.29; 65.21 and 5.47%, to the L of 37.08; 12.77; 63.33 and 5.41% and to the PP of 43.43; 10.95; 45.71 e 6.64%, respectively.
