Resumo: A fim de avaliar o desempenho de 25 híbridos de sorgo granífero cultivados no litoral potiguar, foram mensuradas importantes características: florescimento inicial; percentual de sobrevivência; altura de planta; peso dos grãos e peso das panículas. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos ao acaso com três repetições. Foram feitas análises de variância univariadas e estimadas a repetibilidade e herdabilidade de cada característica. Constatou-se existir variabilidade genética no material para todas as características, exceto para o percentual de sobrevivência, sendo que as médias dos acessos exibiram diferença significativa pelo teste Tukey a 5%. A herdabilidade foi de mediana a alta magnitude, tendo sido alta para o florescimento inicial. Os híbridos AGROCE AG 1018, CNPMS 0306039 e CNPMS 0306037 tiveram o melhor desempenho em algumas das características avaliadas, podendo ser recomendados para a região.

Characterization of hybrids, repeatability and heritability of productive traits of grain sorghum cultivated at the potiguar coastline

abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of 25 hybrids of grain sorghum cultivated at the potiguar coastline. Important traits were measured: the initial flowering; survival percentage; height of plant; grains weight and heads weight. The experimental design was of randomized blocks with three repetitions. Univariate analyses of variance were accomplished and the repeatability and heritability of each trait were estimated. It was verified that there is genetic variability among the genotypes for all the traits, with exception of the survival percentage, and that the hybrids means exhibited significant difference by the Tukey test at the level of 5%. The heritability had moderated to high value, having been high to the initial flowering. The hybrids AGROCE AG 1018, CNPMS 0306039 and CNPMS 0306037 had the best performance in some of the evaluated traits, so these hybrids can be recommended to the region.
