Resumo: O presente trabalho foi desenvolvido no município Paraíba do Sul, sul do estado do Rio de Janeiro para avaliar a maturação ao longo do ano agrícola com 7, 10 e 14 meses de idade e seus respectivos índices de maturação de nove cultivares de cana-de-açúcar sendo elas: precoces (IAC 86 2480, IAC 86 2210, SP 80 1842), médias (RB 72 454, IAC 93 6006, RB 75 8540) e tardias (RB 85 5113, SP 81 3250, IAC 87 3396). O trabalho foi realizado em um delineamento de blocos ao acaso com 4 repetições, implantado em 25/12/2006. A cultivar RB 75 8540 obteve o maior º Brix da base e a cultivar IAC 93 6006 os maiores º Brix médio, do meio, do ápice e índice de maturação aos 7 meses. A cultivar IAC 87 3396 obteve maior º Brix médio, da base e do meio, a cultivar SP 80 1842 obteve maior º Brix do ápice e a cultivar RB 85 5113 maior índice de maturação aos 10 meses. A cultivar SP 81 3250 obteve o maior º Brix médio, da base e do meio, e a cultivar IAC 86 2210 obteve o maior º Brix do ápice e índice de maturação aos 14 meses.

Brix values in different plant parts how to evaluate the maturation of sugar cane in three growth stages

abstract: This work was carried out at the Paraíba do Sul city, located at south of Rio de Janeiro state with the purpose of to determinate the maturation during first year, at 7, 10 and 14 months of growth and the maturation index of nine sugar cane cultivar: early (IAC 86 2480, IAC 86 2210, SP 80 1842), medium (RB 72 454, IAC 93 6006, RB 75 8540) and late (RB 85 5113, SP 81 3250, IAC 87 3396) maturation. The experimental design was completely randomized blocks, with four replications, established in December, 25, 2006. The RB 75 8540 cultivar showed the greatest basisº Brix value and IAC 93 6006 the greatests º Brix medium, of the middle, of the top and maturation index at the seven months. The IAC 87 3396 had greater medium, shoot and of the middle, the SP 80 1842 cultivar showed major top º Brix and the RB 85 5113 cultivar had greater maturation index at ten months. The SP 81 3250 cultivar had major médium, shoot and middle º Brix, and IAC 86 2210 showed the greater top º Brix and maturation index with 14 months.
