Resumo: A Brachiaria híbrida cv. Mulato (CIAT 36061) é proveniente do cruzamento nº 625 (Brachiaria ruziziensis clone 44-6 X Brachiaria brizantha CIAT 6297) sendo considerada uma gramínea perene, vigorosa, de hábito perfilhado, com uma alta capacidade de estabelecimento. Tem demonstrado grande tolerância a cigarrinha-das-pastagens e não foram registrados danos provocados por lagartas durante vários anos de estudos. Este trabalho teve por objetivo descrever anatomicamente a lâmina foliar, bainha e caule de Brachiaria híbrida cv. Mulato (CIAT 36061) observando caracteres que possam estar relacionados com a melhor adaptação da planta ao meio ou que possam interferir na digestibilidade dos tecidos do ponto de vista da degradação ruminal em bovinos. O material botânico foi coletado aleatoriamente em experimento conduzido pelo Curso de Zootecnia, no Instituto de Pesquisas em Agropecuária da FIMES-IPAF em Mineiros, fixado em F.A.A.50 por 72 horas, cortado a mão livre, corado e montado em gelatina glicerina. O estudo anatômico demonstrou presença de células e tecidos com paredes espessadas, especialmente com lignina que podem representar dificuldades na digestibilidade e degradabilidade. Tais características concordam com o que a literatura relata sobre plantas forrageiras tropicais C4. A presença de grande quantidade de cristais prismáticos e na forma de drusas podem estar relacionados com estratégias contra a herbivoria.

Anatomy of the leaf and stem of Brachiaria hybrid cv mulato (CIAT 36061) Poaceae

Abstract: The Brachiaria hybrid cv Mulato (CIAT 36061) came from the cross-breeding nº 625 (Brachiaria ruziziensis clone 44-6 X Brachiaria brizantha CIAT 6297) which is considered to be a perennial and vigorous grass, of tilling habits and high capability of setting up. It has shown high tolerance towards pasture cicadas and there was no record of damages arisen by caterpillar during the several years of studies or experiment. This experiment had the objective of describing anatomically the plate, the covering and the stem of Brachiaria hybrid cv Mulato (CIAT 36061) observing the characteristics which can be related to a better adaptation of the plant in the environment or that can interfere in the woven digestible concerning the ruminating degradation in bovines. The botanical material was collected randomly in the experiment carried by the animal science studies at the Institute of Researches in Cattle-breeding at FIMES-IPAF in Mineiros, settled in F. A. A. 50 for 72 hours, cut in freehand, dyed and set up in glycerin jelly. The anatomical study showed the presence of cells and woven with dense walls especially with lignin woven which can have difficulties in digestion and degradation. These characteristics are in agreement with the report about tropical forage plants C4. The presence of a great quantity of prismatic crystal, in druses shape can be related to strategies against the herbivorous.
