Resumo: Para a realização deste estudo biométrico e histológico foram utilizados quatro ovinos machos adultos e castrados. Para isso coletaram-se fragmentos das glândulas bulbouretrais os quais foram imersos em solução fixadora de Bouim, por 24 horas e posteriormente lavados, cuidadosamente, em álcool 70%, submetidos à rotina histológica e corados com hematoxilinaeosina e fotomicrografados em uma câmera digital da Olympus BX-50. Pode-se verificar que as glândulas direitas e esquerdas não apresentaram diferenças significativas em relação às suas medidas biométricas exceto para a largura bulbouretral cranial esquerda que apresentou efeito significativo maior em relação à direita.

Histological and biometric the bulbourethral glands castrated sheep

abstract: A histological and biometric study was performed using four castrated male adults sheep. Fragments of the bulbourethral glands were collected, immersed in Bouim fixative solution for 24 hours, carefully washed in 70% alcohol, underwent routine histological procedures and were stained with hematoxylin – eosin. Photomicrography was performed using an Olympus digital camera- BX-50. No significant differences were observed according to the biometric measures in the right and left glands, except for the cranial bulbourethral width which showed significant large value in the left gland relating to the right.
