Resumo: A própolis é um complexo de substâncias resinosas coletadas de várias fontes vegetais e processadas pelas abelhas. Apresenta-se como uma fonte de renda alternativa aos apicultores, porém com métodos de coleta ainda precários. O objetivo foi comparar métodos de coleta de própolis, em colônias de Apis mellifera africanizadas, no município de Marechal Cândido Rondon, região Oeste do Paraná, quanto à quantidade produzida, em quatro épocas distintas. Foi realizado no período de setembro de 2006 a setembro de 2007, utilizando-se 16 colméias de 41x41cm, comuns na região, distribuídas em quatro tratamentos, com quatro repetições: raspagem convencional (T1), uso da tela plástica (T2), coletor Apis Flora (T3) e coletor Apis Flora com fitas plásticas transparentes vedando as aberturas (T4). Foram realizadas coletas de própolis nos meses de dezembro, março, junho e setembro, representando as seguintes estações, respectivamente: primavera, verão, outono e inverno. Com relação às técnicas utilizadas para coleta de própolis, o tratamento 1 (T1) apresentou uma maior quantidade de própolis coletada (P<0,05) não diferindo estatisticamente das colméias do tratamento 3 (T3). As colméias apresentaram maiores produções nos meses do outono (P=0,0530) em relação aos do inverno. Concluiu-se que a técnica de raspagem proporcionou maior quantidade de própolis produzida, porém o coletor Apis Flora sem o plástico, pode ser considerado como um método racional e eficiente para tal coleta.
